Hi, I'm Melissa, the founder of k9 care club and I am incredibly passionate about dogs and dog ownership. When the right dog finds the right person (or family) the joy brought to both parties is magical. However I have also seen the struggles people can have that threaten to ruin this relationship. I created this website to pass on advice on choosing and caring for your dog. I want to help solve problems, provide trusted advice and reviews and set you and your dog up for a successful life together. I have owned dogs for over 20 years, trained dogs in competitive obedience and agility and worked as a small animal veterinarian for 7 years and counting. 

 

Throughout my career, I have encountered a few key areas where owners can lack knowledge and understanding. With k9 care club, I aim to bridge these gaps by providing the following advice:

 

Breed Selection: Choosing the right breed is crucial for a successful relationship with your dog. I have put together a breed guide section on the website with information on different popular breeds, I will continue to update this.

 

Health Resources: Access reliable information on a wide range of health topics, including appropriate home remedies and guidance on when it’s necessary to consult your own veterinarian.

 

Food: Here you can find information on different types of diet for your dog alongside guides to common toxins and things to avoid.

 

Gear Guides: Selecting the right accessories for your dog can be overwhelming. I will review some of my favourite (and not so favourite) gear and provide recommendations.

 

Training Tips: Look through short posts on training tips, techniques and aids.
